Hong Kong News-Expo (HKNE), opens its doors on 5 December 2018 as the first news-themed legacy project in Asia, took part in the “Heritage Vogue · Hollywood Road” street carnival organised by the Commissioner for Heritage's Office of the Development Bureau on 4 November (Sunday).

HKNE’s presence at the carnival provided the public with an early taste of the Expo’s array of informative and entertaining attractions ahead of its opening in December. It also promoted the benefits of heritage conservation in Hong Kong as well as helped visitors appreciate the historical, cultural and artistic ambience for which Hollywood Road is renowned.

At the HKNE booth, visitors of all ages enjoyed the fascinating and meaningful interactive games, all of them news-related. The game that involved picking a news photograph and guessing the event that it illustrated aroused particularly keen interest among a large number of visitors. The elderly among them could easily recall the event concerned, while younger parents made use of this fun activity to explain the significance of the news to their children.

In addition, the HKNE booth was equipped with a teleprompter of the kind used by TV anchors to present the news in a studio. This novel feature attracted a lot of photo-taking by local residents and overseas visitors alike.
